    Job Details

    Bio Scouts are essential members of our greenhouse operations as they are responsible for the monitoring and care of crops through biological control of diseases or pests.  They provide valuable information to the growers and managers to ensure the proper care and wellbeing of the crops and allow us to grow at the scale we do at Nature Fresh Farms.

    Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Inspection and monitoring of assigned sections of crops/plants for pests, biologicals, diseases, or damage.
    • Distinguishing between different species of pests or disease to ensure proper documentation of findings and reporting to the Growers/Management in a timely manner.

    • Applying biologicals when necessary and implementing any plans that come up because of findings.
    • Removal and disposal of damaged plants in the appropriate manner.

    Job Requirements:

    • Minimum of 1-year Bio Scout experience is required.
    • Attention to detail is necessary.
    • Ability to complete duties with minimal supervision and comfort working independently.
    • Good communications skills both written and verbal are needed to work effectively with all levels of employees and management.
    • Ability to work at heights and utilize a scissor cart.

    Working Conditions:

    • Climates within the greenhouses can vary from cold to very warm and can be humid at times.
    • Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time; some bending, crouching, kneeling, and working at heights may be required.
    • Will have exposure to various pesticides and insects including bees.
    • Must be available Monday-Friday and on occasion Saturday’s.
    • Hours will fluctuate to reflect the ongoing needs of the business – average 40-55 hours per week.

    Job Description

    Reporting to the Director, Sales, the Key Account Manager will be responsible for acquiring several job specific duties (as outline below), including, and not limited to expanding and maintaining a designated portfolio of sales accounts. This role involves increasing company revenue and profit by generating sales from new and existing customers. They will also work with sales channels to raise awareness of Company offerings and initiate new business ventures to increase market share and meet fiscal goals.

    Health and Safety

    Job Specific Duties

    • Building, developing, and maintaining a portfolio of accounts with a primary focus on growing the Nature Fresh Farms brand to achieve long-term success through personalized KPIs that will be created, reviewed, and updated regularly.
    • Negotiating contract terms of agreement and pricing.
    • Growing top and bottom-line sales & profit and developing new business within defined objectives and parameters.
    • Creating and developing positive relationships with current and new retail/club store customers.
    • Responsible for resolving major conflicts that will affect future growth of the account and providing solutions to customers in a timely manner.
    • Ensuring that admin maintains a clear communication regarding client needs with internal departments such as Marketing, Logistics, Warehouse, Procurement, Farm, Suppliers and Management.
    • Reviewing account reports sent by Sales Administrators on an ongoing basis and evaluating outcomes with retail partners.
    • Collaborating with other departments to ensure business goals are understood and met.
    • Setting and tracking sales accounts targets/budgets with the Director, Sales, and Account Administrators.
    • Working alongside marketing department to develop reports and presentations for meetings.
    • Analyzing data and reports (internally and 3rd party) to anticipate trends, demand levels and cater new product offerings to key partners.
    • Actively contributing towards a variety of projects, trade shows, workshops, and other Sales team initiatives.
    • Attending trade shows, work shops and exhibitions in an engaging and outgoing level to stay up to date with industry trends.
    • Setting up meetings annually with retailer partners to go over yearly reviews and discuss new opportunities for the year ahead.
    • Staying in tune with your customers needs and understanding the competitive landscape which includes regular store visits as well as utilizing 3rd party support such as Field Agent and other merchandising support.
    • Supporting Sales Administrator when they are unavailable to communicate to internal teams or retail partners.

    Qualifications

    • 2-3 years of sales account management experience required.
    • Experience at successfully selling multiple product/service lines with a demonstrated ability to close sales transactions.
    • Previous experience working in greenhouse, produce or the food manufacturing industry are definite assets.
    • Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers, key business partners, and other stakeholders through timely delivery, follow-up, initiative, and communication.
    • Very high degree of confidentiality and integrity required regarding all aspects of the business.
    • Exceptional communication abilities, active listening skills and written communication skills.
    • Skilled at assessing client needs, developing proposals, and delivering solutions.
    • Excellent negotiation and diplomacy skills, with a high degree of tact and persuasiveness.
    • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.

  • Buffer Attendant

    Job Category: Warehouse

    Location: Delta, OH

    Job Details

    Buffer Attendants are crucial members of our operation – they are essential for ensuring production moves forward every day. Without them, we would not be able to grow at the scale we do at Nature Fresh!

    Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Remove product from the Buffer system, weigh product, and apply sticker indicating the corresponding weight.
    • Put product in designated area and rotates according to FIFO protocol.
    • Keeps work area clean and organized.
    • Monitors and makes necessary changes and corrections to the Buffer system as carts are entering, unloading, or exiting the system.
    • Ensures that empty boxes and crates are available when needed for empty carts.
    • Communicates with the Box maker, Packhouse Manager, and Greenhouse Labor Manager regarding any issues, concerns, or any suggestions for areas of improvement.
    • Follows all Food Safety and Personal Safety protocols at all times.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements

    • Experience is an asset – however, if the candidate shows commitment and a willingness to learn, we are willing to train.
    • Position will require lifting up to 50lbs.
    • Work setting can be moderately loud at times.

  • Line Lead

    We are currently seeking an applicant to join our team and fill a full-time position as a Line Lead at our greenhouse operation in Delta, OH.

    The Line Lead works closely with the Packhouse Supervisor and Warehouse Manager coordinating and ensuring the proper running of the packing lines including delegating work to the packing team to meet packing targets and customer commitments within the specified quality and food safety standards.

    JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Delegating work to employees on the packing lines including training, organizing and delegating employees to meet the required performance levels.
    • Reviewing daily work orders and ensuring packs are completed according to pack instructions and customer specifications.
    • Overseeing the packing lines to ensure they are running efficiently; quickly troubleshooting issues to keep the lines moving.
    • Ensuring the lines are ready before the start of each job.
    • Ensuring the lines are properly cleaned after each job is completed.
    • Ensuring workers are properly trained on all Nature Fresh procedures including workplace health and safety procedures, and that workers work safely at all times and use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) or other safety equipment.
    • Ensuring work areas are kept clean and safe at all times.
    • Overseeing the inventory of packaging materials and re-ordering as required.
    • Accurately completing all related documentation and paperwork as required by management.
    • Reporting operational issues or delays to the Packhouse Supervisor and Warehouse Manager in a timely manner
    • Reporting employee relations issues to the Packhouse Supervisor and Warehouse Manager so that they can handle them in a timely and appropriate manner 

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Good performance in your previous role is essential.
    • Previous experience as a Line Lead is an asset.
    • Patient, respectful and able to direct employees effectively.
    • Organization and attention to detail are necessary.
    • Good communication skills – both verbal and written are required.
    • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure or tight constantly changing deadlines.
    • Must be able to workday shift.
    • Must be available to work from Monday-Saturday – hours will fluctuate according to the needs of the business – average 50-55 hours be week.

  • Greenhouse Supervisor

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    A Greenhouse Supervisor works with the Greenhouse Labor Manager, Human Resources, Health & Safety and the Growers to ensure that production and other processes run smoothly.  They are responsible for training, organizing and delegating work and ensuring that employees are applying proper plant maintenance and picking quality fruit for successful plant growth and production.

    JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

    • Ensures employees are aware of and follow their job descriptions and all company policies. Progressive discipline procedures must be adhered to when an employee does not meet quality, production, safety or other regulations.  These procedures will be provided by Nature Fresh Management.  All non-conformances should be reported to the appropriate personnel.
    • Ensures any visitors or non-employees are aware of and follow Nature Fresh food, safety and quality policies.
    • Manages the team as per company standards. Written and verbal warnings are issued when necessary and all incidents and absenteeism should be reported to HR or Health & Safety.
    • The supervisor shall stay actively involved in employee hands on training and follow-up to ensure all work is done efficiently and correctly. Training and development are required on an on-going basis.
    • Responsible for reviewing employee labor tracking system as well as notifying employees if they are not logging jobs and hours properly.
    • Motivating and encouraging workers and communicating with them as necessary.
    • Plan, delegate and lead the team well to improve performance and quality.
    • Complete compulsory paperwork according to policies set out by Nature Fresh.
    • Have full understanding of the Canker prevention and control procedure.
    • High degree of confidentiality in regard to employee and job-related matters.
    • Confidence is necessary when dealing with difficult situations. Each supervisor is provided with policies and procedures to assist them however if the situation persists, we encourage you to talk to your manager.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Fluency in Spanish would be an asset.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.

    • Availability must be open from Monday-Saturday, Sunday on call. Hours will fluctuate according to the needs of the business.
    • Working with diverse cultural backgrounds in a team setting but also working very independently.
    • S/he is expected to report to work Monday-Saturday sometimes Sunday.

  • Cart Driver

    Job Category: Farm

    Location: Delta, OH

    JOB DESCRIPTION
    Cart Drivers work with the Greenhouse Labor Manager and Supervisors to ensure that production runs smoothly by keeping a flow of picking carts available for the pickers and sending full carts to the buffer.

    JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Keeps flow of picking carts available for the pickers
    • Wash picking carts when necessary
    • Clean sanitation stations at the end of the day. Ensure that all sanitation buckets are washed and have clean water and that all bottles are filled with disinfectant or degreaser.
    • Keep pathways free of carts and if the train is full, send it to the buffer.
    • Ensure all picking carts are sent to buffer at the end of the day
    • Fill clips and gloves
    • Empty trash in restroom areas and ensure that restrooms are free of items that don't belong
    • Sweep pathways
    • Clean and empty containers daily
    • Help supervisor check the quality of the tomatoes
    • Keeps work area clean and organized
    • Follows all Food Safety and Personal Safety protocols at all times
    • Performs other duties as assigned

     QUALIFICATIONS

    • Fluency in English and Spanish would be an asset

  • Shipping/Receiving Clerk

    We are currently seeking an applicant to join our team and fill a full-time Shipping/Receiving Clerk position at our Distribution Center in Leamington, ON.

    Job Details

    The Shipping/Receiving Clerk works closely with the sales, procurement, shipping, and receiving department to ensure supply chain operations processes run smoothly.  He/she are the front line of shipping goods within the company.  A Shipping/Receiving Clerk sees that accurate records are kept of al products received and shipped.  Additionally, they are tasked with updating and providing accurate records of inventory.

    Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Filling out and inputting temperature recorder information in NAV, Sensitech and Emerson Oversight.
    • Recording and sending daily/weekly inventory templates, office supplies and seals through email.
    • Input chep counts in mychep.com and emailing chep counts daily.
    • Printing and making load confirmations/load sheets and making sure information is accurate.
    • Filling out and attaching permits, certificates, and inspection paperwork accurately.
    • Answering phones and attending to drivers/and or anybody at window.
    • Assigning bay doors appropriately and accurately for truck drivers.
    • Send late truck notices through Microsoft Teams to inform the logistics department.
    • Record check-in times, start times, and check-out times of trucks in Smartsheets or TMS system.
    • Report truck arrivals/departures to the logistics department, supervisors, and other clerks through TMS to ensure an even workflow.
    • Handing out load sheets with accurate information for Shippers/Receivers to load trucks.
    • Assisting drivers with any problem they may have – handle situations accordingly and appropriately.
    • Data entry in Block Chain, Smartsheets and other systems.
    • Assisting with printing tags and orders to separate and count pallets.
    • Monitoring emails for revisions to sales orders.
    • Verifying and entering the correct information into NAV for completed orders. Verifying that quality is complete on orders, printing the BOL’s.
    • Assist with handing out orders evenly to shippers and printing pallet markers.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements:

    • Excellent communication skills (oral & written)
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other software programs.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment, some independent work.
    • Ability to work in a fast environment by multitasking and prioritizing work while being attentive to details and quality.

    • Must be available to work regular 6 days a week or continental shift (3 days one week, 4 days the next), 11am-11pm – hours range from 40-55 per week and will fluctuate according to the needs of the business. Some Sundays will be required.

    • Fast paced warehouse environment where temperatures vary from cooler to temperature-controlled areas.
    • Balance between sitting, standing, and walking throughout the warehouse.
