When he was 10 years old, David W. and his family moved from Mexico to Canada and haven’t looked back since. David arrived without having any English reading or writing skills, but after a few months of teaching himself, David was soon able to read, write, and speak English enough to begin school. David graduated high school, began his full-time career at Nature Fresh Farms, and recently transitioned to a new role as our Human Resources (HR) Systems Coordinator!
The day-to-day versatility and opportunities for learning are what David enjoys most about his new position: “While overseeing the internal HR systems our Human Resources team uses (such as HCM and Priva) and analyzing the data they collect, I’m able to do a variety of tasks every day that keep things interesting. I like that I get to work with numbers, work on the technical side of these programs, and also work with people from all over the company – it’s a little bit of everything.”
During his time at Nature Fresh Farms, David has come to greatly appreciate our company’s values and work culture: “To me, Nature Fresh Farms is so much more than just a place of work – the people I work with feel like family. It is also very rewarding to see a company of this size give back to its employees and the community.”
During David’s free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends and family, doing escape rooms, and learning new things. You can also often find David browsing through tutorials and other educational content to develop new skills and expand his knowledge!
In his current role with our Human Resources department, David is responsible for overseeing the many systems our team uses to keep track of employee data such as attendance, hours, and earnings. David also analyzes reports from these systems for our management team, as well as provides guidance to his fellow team members on how to properly use these important systems. David is one of our #GrowToPeople!
