Florencio E.

“What Nature Fresh Farms means to me is effort, teamwork, personal growth, and learning.”

Born in Guanajuato, Mexico, Florencio E. is a lifelong grower. As a child, Florencio learned the tricks of the trade on his family-owned farm where they grew most of the food they ate. With the seed of agriculture planted early, Florencio made his way to the Antonio Narro Agrarian Autonomous University where he received his degree in Agronomy in 2010.

As any grower will tell you, success in this role requires a deep love of how things are grown: “Growing up surrounded by plants and animals sparked an interest in agriculture for me at an early age. When you are responsible for the food you eat, you develop an appreciation for where it comes from and how it is grown. I carry this love of growing with me into my career as I help to ensure the health and security of our crops.”

Every day presents different challenges, and that’s what Florencio likes most about his role as a Grower: “I enjoy the challenge of the climate control and labor elements that allow us to mitigate pests and diseases to produce a healthy crop. It is an amazing feeling to hold your work in your hands and be proud knowing you helped it grow.”

Following the completion of his schooling, Florencio moved to America to pursue work opportunities. This search for growth in his chosen field brought Florencio to the Nature Fresh Farms family in March 2020.

In his spare time, Florencio is an avid chef, cooking traditional meals like carne asada with friends and family. Florencio is also an avid fisherman and loves to explore the lakes and rivers around Ohio.

Being a Grower is a fast-paced job with lots to accomplish in a day. Florencio is constantly in motion as he monitors and studies our crops to ensure their needs are always being met. Whether Florencio is physically checking our Tomato plants’ health or reading the data he sees on our PRIVA system, he can make the changes needed for our crops to get exactly what they need. Florencio is one of our #GrowToPeople!
