“I really feel like I am a part of a team here. I feel appreciated and missed when I am not at work.”

The youngest of six siblings, Khalil I. was born in the mountains of Lebanon till his family had to flee to Canada in 1996. Over the years Khalil and his family moved to Montreal, Detroit, and finally Windsor where he continued his education receiving a diploma in Computer Science and Network Security. Beginning in his role just over a year ago in 2020, Khalil works in our Logistics Department as one of our Logistics Coordinators!

Previously working for a construction company, Khalil chose to work at Nature Fresh Farms because he wanted to explore a new industry and try something different: “I wanted to explore a new industry, and agriculture is very different from construction where I previously held a Logistics position.”

From the beginning Khalil knew Nature Fresh Farms was a good fit, feeling a close connection to his team members and the family culture here: “I really feel like I am a part of a team here. I feel appreciated and missed when I am not at work.”

Khalil loves nature and spends a lot of time outdoors going on hikes or ATV riding: “My first trip out west in Canada ignited a new love for nature for me. Seeing the Rockies was like something out of a dream, and it made me realize that I wanted to explore more and more of the world.” When he’s not outdoors, you will also find him cooking a mean steak and going for long drives.

As Logistics Coordinator, Khalil’s most important responsibilities are making sure trucks are booked to bring the product to our Distribution Centers, while ensuring all service levels are met for the best possible price through proper planning and coordination with our shippers and DC’s.
