  • Allocator

    Job Category: Farm

    Location: Leamington, ON

    We are currently seeking an applicant to join our team and fill a full-time Allocator position at our farm in Leamington, ON.

    Job Details

    The Allocator tracks, tags and allocates product as per production and shipping schedule requirements at the Farm to enable maximum productivity in all areas.  They view order requirements and review items and quantities in stock to determine rework or build requirements.  They work closely with the Warehouse Manager to inform them of the status of the production plan and any pending issues or areas of concern.

    Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Allocating product, based on FIFO, quality specification, and allowable size.
    • Monitoring Sales Order emails for all sales that come through and following up with busier team members to ensure nothing is missed.
    • Reviewing the production plan ensuring all orders are being covered and adjusting items as required to fill orders.
    • Inventory Management by running daily reports on aged inventory ensuring FIFO is being met, and part pallets are being consumed.
    • Ensure that all boxes are counted and/or weighted and that all pallets are tagged as they enter and leave the warehouse.
    • Quickly identify and resolve all tag issues.
    • Monitor #2 products and dumped products on each line to ensure that they are properly isolated, counted/weighed and reported for each supplier.
    • Provide details about #2 products and dumped products.
    • Confirm the count on all pallets and tag all pallets before they leave their respective lines.
    • Ensure ongoing communication with the Warehouse Supervisor and Line Leads
    • Assist and contribute to a positive work environment, leading if necessary.

    Job Requirements

    • Minimum of 1 year experience in an administrative or coordinator role.
    • Experience with computers, specifically Microsoft Office
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize urgent tasks. Works well under pressure.
    • Ability to communicate, gather and share information with different individuals, teams, and management across our facilities.

  • Bio Scout

    Job Details
    Bio Scouts are essential members of our greenhouse operations as they are responsible for the monitoring and care of crops through biological control of diseases or pests. They provide valuable information to the growers and managers to ensure the proper care and wellbeing of the crops and allow us to grow at the scale we do at Nature Fresh Farms.

    Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Inspection and monitoring of assigned sections of crops/plants for pests, biologicals, diseases or damage
    • Distinguishing between different species of pests or disease to ensure proper documentation of findings and reporting to the Growers/Management in a timely manner
    • Applying biologicals when necessary and implementing any plans that come up as a result of findings
    • Removal and disposal of damaged plants in the appropriate manner
    • Compliance with all Food Safety, Health & Safety and operational policies and procedures
    • Assisting with the annual crop cleanout

    Job Requirements:

    • Minimum of 1-year Bio Scout experience is required
    • Attention to detail is necessary
    • Ability to complete duties with minimal supervision and comfort working independently
    • Good communication skills both written and verbal are needed to work effectively with all levels of employees and management
    • Ability to work at heights and utilize a scissor cart

    Working Conditions

    • Climates within the greenhouses can vary from cold to very warm and can be humid at times
    • Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time; some bending, crouching, kneeling and working at heights may be required
    • Will have exposure to various pesticides and insects including bees
    • Must be available Monday-Friday and on occasion Saturday`s

  • Gatekeeper

    Job Category: Warehouse

    Location: Leamington, ON

    The Gatekeeper works closely with the Warehouse Supervisor; tracking and ensuring proper tagging of all products that make their way through the production area.  The Gatekeeper is also responsible for properly distributing all pack and box labels.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Ensuring that all boxes are counted and/or weighed and that all pallets are tagged as they enter and leave the Warehouse.
    • Making all box labels and packaging stickers for all orders.
    • Monitoring #2 products and dumped products on each line to ensure that they are properly isolated, counted/weighed and reported for each supplier.
    • Providing details about #2 products and dumped products to the Warehouse Supervisor.
    • Confirming the count on all pallets and tagging al pallets before they leave their respective lines.
    • Ensuring ongoing communication with Line Leads and Warehouse Supervisor.
    • Accurately completing all related documentation and paperwork as required.

    Job Requirements

    Job Details

    Overview: The Warehouse Manager oversees all areas in the warehouse. Warehouse Manager is responsible for the employees assigned to work in the warehouse facility. Warehouse Manager shall be knowledgeable in Health & Safety Regulations. The Warehouse Manager ensures that all personnel in the warehouse facility are following all policies and procedures to ensure the final quality of the product, as well as, the sanitation of the facility and that all packed product is in the best condition for distribution. Warehouse Manager guarantees that all Nature Fresh procedures are being followed and implementing training when needed for personnel in the facility. In the event of an absence, the senior management will appoint another employee who has been fully trained and is competent to complete the job duties pertaining to the position of Warehouse Manager. In the event that there is not another employee suitable for the position, the Senior Management will step in to perform all duties of the Warehouse Manager.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Warehouse Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations.
    • Continually monitors the product realization process to ensure effectiveness and efficiency for achieving the food safety and quality objectives.
    • Ensures the organization is properly supervised and staffed with competent and trained workers knowledgeable of food safety procedures and policies.
    • Ensures that production operations are staffed with personnel in charge of, or delegated responsibility for ensuring product quality.
    • Warehouse Manager ensures that the food safety and quality policy are communicated and understood by Nature Fresh personnel.
    • Responsible to monitor trends in customer satisfaction and, when required, take action to address opportunities for improvement.
    • Ensure that safety procedures are followed at all times. All Health and Safety policies and procedures established by management must be followed at all times.
    • Trained in Health and Safety Awareness Training to ensure all employees employed with Nature Fresh are trained and knowledgeable of Occupational Health & Safety Act.
    • Warehouse Manager must be competent of supervising employees to work safely and in accordance with OH&S Act.
    • When the use of fork-lift is required, the proper training and certification will be completed.
    • All Health and Safety policies and procedures pertaining to this position will be initially trained at orientation, and in refresher training completed annually or as needed. A hardcopy of the Health and Safety policies and procedures Handbook pertaining to Nature Fresh is located in the employee break area, in the Human Resources office, or online on the company web for review at any time.

    Job Requirements:

    • Five years prior warehouse management experience in automated production of food or produce handling and inventory systems
    • Five years prior experience supervising employees in similar environment
    • Experience managing a diverse workforce in a culturally competent manner
    • Demonstrated abilities to motivate and co-ordinate staff including coaching, employee development and leading teams to performance standards.
    • Ability to maintain respectful relationships at all levels within and outside the organization while working in a fast-paced environment with time sensitive deadlines.

    • Strong computer skills.

    Job Requirements

    Job Details

    The Operations Manager is responsible for Farm operations; overseeing each department from the Growers to production to administration; to ensure all departments are running as smoothly and efficiently and are working together to grow and deliver high quality produce that meets the expectations of our clients and consumers. This is a hands-on role requiring a positive leader who is not afraid of challenges, is good at problem-solving and will roll up their sleeves and handle anything thrown at them.

    Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Directly responsible for the greenhouse and warehouse operations, IPM program, Energy, Growers, Maintenance, Purchasing, Human Resources, IT, Finance and Administration.
    • Works with the Owner to establish short and long-term operational goals that fit within the overall operational objectives.
    • Provides leadership and fosters a work environment of positive energy, creativity, teamwork and collaboration between departments and employees.

  • Greenhouse Supervisor

    Job Details

    Our Supervisors play a key role in completing day-to-day greenhouse vegetable operations to ensure the necessary produce is harvested and packaged to meet customer orders and standards. It is a Supervisor’s responsibility to ensure that employees apply proper plant maintenance for successful plant growth, picking, and packing for quality production.

    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Coaching employees and demonstrating proper plant maintenance processes such as pruning, twisting, de-leafing, picking, clipping, string tying etc. on an on-going basis
    • During crop turnover they are responsible for ensuring all cleanout tasks and start up tasks are completed including ensuring the greenhouse is cleaned and ready for planting
    • Monitoring plant conditions and reporting any concerns to the Growers.
    • Ensuring production lines are organized, prepared, cleaned and maintained to Health and Safety standards and ensuring only quality products are packaged
    • Planning, delegating, motivating and lead the team well to improve performance and quality, while ensuring work is done efficiently, correctly and up to quality standards
    • Training, organizing and developing work schedules
    • Collaborating with the Growers to ensure proper allocation of staff and work
    • Aiding in pest monitoring and helping staff identify pest and disease problems
    • Ensuring all company health and safety and food compliance policies, procedures and standards are adhered to while upholding and monitoring quality control to ensure standards are met at all times
    • Maintaining confidentiality of all proprietary information, as well as other Company data, including personnel information
    • Monitoring and reporting maintenance needs to the Growers and Maintenance Department or preforming minor repairs in the greenhouse or warehouse, as needed.
    • Maintaining and completing pre-operational and post cleaning procedure checklists for production lines
    • Providing feedback, performance reviews and if necessary; apply progressive discipline processes for non-compliances, in a respectful manner
    • Completing required paperwork according to policies set out by Nature Fresh Farms

    Job Requirements:

    • Supervisor experience within greenhouse operations is required
