  • Graphic Designer

    Location: Leamington, ON

    We are currently seeking a Graphic Designer, skilled in photography, to support our growing Marketing Team.

    JOB DETAILS

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Working in collaboration with the marketing team to create and maintain various marketing assets, including packaging, logos, advertising (digital and print), presentations, tradeshow signs, videos, web promotional elements and all collateral images.
    • Updating collateral and assets with new material or modified layouts. Managing projects from concept development through to execution by coordinating with the appropriate team members to secure proper assets and meet task deadlines.
    • Liaising and preparing materials for print and digital production with external vendors and suppliers.
    • Ensuring that all digital graphic content is optimized across all channels, and that all files are proofed and correctly formatted for optimal reproduction.
    • Creating original and creative illustrations, icons, and infographics.
    • Executes all photo-related projects including website photography and videography.
    • Setting up lighting and composition, ensuring products are represented accurately, and in line with brand guidelines.
    • Maintaining exposure and color accuracy standards of images.
    • Participate in brainstorming strategies.
    • Ensure postproduction of photography & videography (retouching, cropping, editing and adherence to proper file naming conventions) within set deadlines.
    • Conferring with the Marketing Director or marketing leads to prioritize needs, resolve conflicts, develop content, and implement solutions in a timely manner.
    • Maintaining a strong understanding of any current technologies and/or practices through continuing education, research, and/or workshops to provide recommendations based on best practices as well as industry and consumer trends.
    • Demonstrating initiative to continuously evolve and improve the brand.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • A college diploma or University degree in Marketing, Design, or photography.
    • 2+ years related working experience in a communications or marketing environment.
    • Extensive skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects etc.), PDF form creation and optimization, knowledge of various Google Applications, and the ability to quickly learn and use new software.
    • Strong experience using a DSLR camera.
    • Strong experience with lighting/studio setups and propping.
    • Experience with videography, motion editing, photo retouching.
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
    • Proficient in digital/web production and design with a strong understanding of design principles and methodologies.
    • A Solid understanding of branding and visual identity.
    • A keen eye for visual aesthetics; including good knowledge of colour systems, artwork preparation and the print production process.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills; proven ability to successfully manage tasks and projects independently; strong planning and problem-solving skills.

    WORKPLACE CONDITIONS:

    Job Details
    The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Purchasing Department, including, sourcing, materials and supplies, managing vendors/suppliers/staff and maintaining control over inventory on hand.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Managing, delegating, and organizing all activities within the Purchasing department including purchasing of all dry goods and services from internal and external organizations.
    • Tracking all purchases and purchasing costs.
    • Reviewing and tracking all price increases/decreases with Purchaser. Preparing communications to management about developments and impact for the Company.
    • Ensuring transfers are arranged to move packaging between internal and external locations as needed for production.

    • Establish a Dry Goods forecast with Sales history and forecast and review with applicable Purchaser.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Degree in business administration, material management or related field.
    • Experience as a Purchasing Manager or similar position.
    • Good knowledge in supply chain management or materials management.
    • Strong planning and organizational skills.
    • A high degree of confidentiality and integrity is required regarding all aspects of the business.
    • Knowledge of the greenhouse produce industry would be a definite asset.

  • Sales Receptionist

    Job Details

    The Receptionist is the first point of contact for guests, visitors, and vendors whether it is in person, email or on the telephone. S/he would be answering or referring inquiries and helping guests, visitors or vendors feel welcome before directing them to the appropriate person or department.  The receptionist will also be responsible for general clerical duties like inbound and out bound mail, administrative work, and general clerical support.

    Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Answering, screening, and forwarding incoming phone calls, emails, and messages to the appropriate person or department as needed.
    • Greet and welcome guests, visitors, and vendors as soon as they arrive and directing them to the appropriate person or department and/or assist in addressing any inquiries they may have (when applicable).

    Job Requirements

    • Certificate in Office Administration would be an asset.
    • Previous experience as a receptionist would be an asset.
    • Friendly professional demeanor with the ability to communicate with all visitors, vendors, and employees at all levels.
    • Multi-tasking, organization and attention to detail are essential.
    • Must be able to effectively follow and give directions.

  • Warehouse Janitor

    JOB DETAILS:

    As part of the Distribution Center team, the Warehouse Janitor is responsible for ensuring that our facilities are cleaned and tidied regularly.  Food safety is of top concern at our operation, and to meet food safety and quality standards, proper cleanliness and sanitation are essential.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Responsible for maintaining the appearance of the interior and exterior areas of the Distribution Center:
      • Keeping building and grounds neat, clean, free from clutter/garbage/debris/weather and safe from hazards.
      • Cleaning interior and exterior windows.
      • Maintaining cleanliness of parking lots, walkways, entrances/exits, etc.
      • Emptying garbage, recycle bins and any other trash/garbage materials.
      • Dusting, disinfecting, or cleaning various surfaces such as railings, lights, doors, walls, racks, equipment, ceiling rafters, etc.
      • Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming hallways, stairs, offices, etc.
      • Clean and sanitize all break/lunchrooms.
      • Clean and sanitize all washrooms and locker rooms.
    • Thoroughly clean all floors using Zamboni and maintain cleanliness of all floors throughout the shift including spills, debris from pallets/produce, damaged product, etc.
    • Assist in set up of decorations, tables, chairs, and clean up, to prepare for Company events such as parties and meetings, etc.
    • Operate machinery to perform janitorial duties such as Zamboni, forklift, power washer, etc.
    • Act as coverage for Office Janitorial.
    • Report any maintenance/housekeeping repairs or safety concerns to the Assistant Warehouse Manager.
    • Monitor janitorial supplies and inform DC Coordinator if in need of restock or missing items.
    • Follow and complete daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly cleaning schedules and checklists and submit to Assistant Warehouse Manager.
    • Keep janitorial closets and equipment rooms clean, organized, and stocked.
    • Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects as assigned by Warehouse Manager.
    • Follow OHSA guidelines for handling chemicals and use of proper protective equipment as required for daily duties.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements:

    • Previous janitorial /cleaning experience preferred.
    • Minimum 1 year of forklift experience.
    • Ability to use cleaning chemicals and janitorial equipment/machinery safely and correctly.
    • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced warehouse.
    • Safety shoes are required.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
    • Ability to carry out work efficiently with minimal supervision.
    • Positive attitude and ability to work well with others.

    Working Conditions

    Job Details

    As part of the Purchasing Team, the Purchasing Receiver ensures all inbound maintenance parts and supplies are received in good condition, documented, and shipped to the appropriate departments.

    Job Duties

    Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Receives all maintenance parts and supplies.
    • Ensures all PO’s are received accurately.
    • Ensures accurate counts on product received and verifies product is correct.
    • Works closely with the Farm Purchasing Team and Maintenance to ensure orders received are correct.
    • Regularly communicates with supplies and team members to ensure orders are received.
    • Organizes intercompany transfers.
    • Records all new assets purchased including model and serial numbers.
    • Ensures meticulous record keeping in Computer Software (ConnectWise).
    • Ensures all rejections/returns are labeled and placed in hold area so it can be processed timely.
    • Records and investigates damaged cases.
    • Follows all workplace Health & Safety and Food Safety policies and procedures.
    • Ensures the receiving area is maintained and kept tidy.
    • Informs manager of any issues that need to be resolved or decisions that need to be made to ensure proper delivery to internal departments.

    Job Requirements

    • Forklift experience.
    • Good working experience with computers & software programs. Experience with ConnectWise a definite asset.
    • Ability to type 25 words per minute.
    • Ability to communicate well with suppliers and team members.
    • Works well under pressure, multi-tasking and prioritizing work while being attentive to details.
    • Works well in an open office.
    • Good problem-solving skills and willingness to get the job done.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
    • Safety shoes are mandatory.
    • Must have their own transportation to work and may be required to travel between locations.
    • Must be available Monday-Friday, 8-5. Afterhours or weekends may be required.

    Job Details

    The Quality Control Supervisor oversees and monitors the inspection and testing of produce to ensure adherence to established quality standards.  They are responsible for coordinating the activities of workers who are involved in inspecting materials and ensuring that they meet the quality standards specified by the company and customers.

    Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Assign outbounds and IB orders to each team member and follow up on progress.
    • Provide weekly reports to Quality Manager for each QC employee on any concerns/issues.
    • Conduct daily meetings with QC team to communicate departmental/company matters.
    • Maintain daily contact with Quality Manager and other departments such as Production and Commodities to address and follow up with operational issues and concerns.
    • Ensure daily cleaning of equipment and sign offs are completed. Ensure equipment is working properly and address any equipment concerns to Quality Manager.
    • Communicate regularly with the team to ensure they are aware and follow their responsibilities and all company policies and procedures.
    • Provide hands-on training and follow up with new hires; however, training, development, and coaching occurs regularly throughout the department.
    • Participate in Employee Relations and work collaboratively with Quality Manager for progressive discipline, coaching/discussions, performance reviews, and investigations.
    • Complete monthly calibration of equipment.
    • Plan, delegate, and lead their team to improve performance and standards of quality through motivation and encouragement.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements:

    • 1-3 years of Quality Control experience.
    • Previous Supervisory experience is preferred.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.

Reporting directly to the Corporate Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Manager develops and implements human resource strategies and supports the goals and objectives of the organization by effectively managing and administering HR policies and programs in accordance with company policy and appropriate legislation.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Ensures that all employment practices are in compliance with local, state, and federal legislation
    • Coaches other managers within the organization in affective managerial practices, legal considerations, and employee relations
    • Maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies
    • Maintain positive employee relations and resolve complex issues through proper investigation and mediation with Managers and employees
    • Acts as a resource to employees to handle questions, concerns, or suggestions
    • Responsible for administrative duties in the following HR processes: full-cycle recruitment, new hire onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, and voluntary and involuntary termination
    • Responsible for new hire processing components such as managing pre-employment screening, I-9 documentation, and other relevant paperwork, and entering and updating employee information for payroll system.

  • Junior Controller

    Job Category: Farm

    Location: Leamington, ON

    Ketler Farms is a new collaborative venture with Nature Fresh Farms and is part of the Nature Fresh group of companies. It is planned to be a 30-acre state-of-the art greenhouse facility located on Mersea Rd 11 in Staples ON. We are currently seeking a dynamic Junior Controller to assist in our planning stages.

    Job Overview

    As a Junior Controller, you will be trained on all financial functions of a greenhouse operation under the guidance of the Nature Fresh Farms Controller. You will spend a required amount of time performing the functions of AP, AR, Payroll, Financial Analysis, Treasury, and Full Cycle Month End close, working closely with Nature Fresh Farms staff. In addition, you will spend time with Operations staff to ensure a full understanding of the business. Once your training is complete, you will transition over to Ketler Farms and in your role of Junior Controller.

    Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Financial Reporting: Oversee the month-end close process and compiling consolidated financial statements. Research technical accounting issues and play a key role in establishing company-wide accounting policies. Creating and maintaining a recurring budget to actual reporting for each department, credit card or vendor reconciliations, and final review of expense reports.
    • Financial Accounting: Manage the day-to-day financial operations including but not limited to, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Budgeting, Payroll, ad-hoc reporting requests from leaders,
    • Payroll: completes payroll bi-weekly, issues ROES as needed, Creates and prepares T4s, Collaborates with HR to ensure payroll deductions and activities are compliant.
    • Audit: Assist in annual audit and tax compliance work. Work with auditors to prepare requested schedules and corresponding analysis, help to draft financial statements, create schedules to support requests from our professional audit or tax teams for filings, and respond to requests from tax filing authorities globally.
    • Treasury: Assist in creating & maintaining a rolling weekly cash forecast. Manage the day-to-day cash flow of the Company to ensure vendors are paid and all receivables are collected on a timely basis.
    • Process Improvements: Assist in developing, documenting, and implementing internal controls. Assist in identifying inefficiencies and revamping processes.
    • Budgeting: Gather relevant information & complete for management review.
    • Oversee all activities related to provincial and federal tax compliance issues.

    Job Requirements:

    • Accounting: 5-10 years preferred
    • Demonstrated experience revamping processes, with an eye for improving efficiency.
    • An excellent communicator and able to convey complex ideas concisely.
    • Flexible – able to adapt to changing business requirements in a growing company.
    • Organized with extreme attention to detail.
    • Must be credible, reliable and have a great ethical character
    • Fluent in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
    • CPA, CA designation or equivalent experience an asset

     WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Works primarily in an office setting – sitting, standing, walking.
    • Works both independently and with a team.
    • Some travel required – must possess a valid driver’s licence and access to own vehicle.
    • Flexibility in hours of work is required although standard work hours are Monday – Friday.

    Compensation – Based on experience
