  • Health & Safety Specialist

    We are currently seeking an applicant to join our team and fill a full-time position as the Health & Safety Specialist at our greenhouse operation in Leamington, ON.

    Job Details

    The Health & Safety Specialist is a hands-on role that works cross-functionally with the Director of Corporate Compliance, H&S Coordinator,  the HR team, management, and employees at all levels to promote a positive safety culture, ensure H&S practices, training, and audits are implemented and followed consistently across all areas, and employee safety issues are handled promptly and fairly.

    Job Duties

    Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Develops the annual health and safety plans, policies, programs, and procedures for the company based on the assessment of hazards, audit findings, changing legislation, and best practices while ensuring compliance with the Ministry of Labour.
    • Acts as an advisor/trainer to managers, supervisors, and employees on H&S policies, legislative requirements, and best practices; and assists them with implementations, providing coaching and support on specific employee issues.
    • In collaboration with the H&S Coordinator, investigates accidents, incidents, near misses, etc. thoroughly and responds appropriately through communicating, training, and following up with supervisors and employees. Also identifies and works with management to put remedies in place to prevent future accidents or injuries.
    • Creates and facilitates H&S training for new and existing employees, management, and visitors to ensure understanding of potential risks and expected behaviors within the company (WHMIS, lockout tag out, working at heights, fall protection, safety orientation, safe use of equipment - forklifts, hand tools, proper PPE, working alone, electrical work restrictions to licensed employees, Farm-related chemical applications and PPE, construction/enhancements by contractors, maintenance department skills alignment, appropriate licenses and permits for hazardous equipment).
    • Develops and manages internal H&S audits, visiting all sites to conduct inspections and risk assessments with the goal of reducing/addressing risks and ensuring compliance.
    • Chairs the Joint Health and Safety Committee, ensuring all action items are followed up on and committee members are adequately trained.
    • Overseeing the return to work and modified work programs, working closely with H&S Coordinator, Human Resources, the employee(s), their supervisors, and WSIB to ensure a safe and timely return to work.
    • Works with the H&S Coordinator on any complex WSIB claims, disputes or appeals; liaising and providing guidance where appropriate, ensuring yearly rebates are gained. Also ensures a return to work plans effective and managers/supervisors are supporting them.
    • Performs other related duties and projects as required.

    Job Requirements

    • College diploma in Health and Safety, or Industrial Relations an asset.
    • Minimum 3 years hands-on health and safety experience in either a production facility or agriculture are assets.
    • Working knowledge of GAP, GMP, HACCP, SQF an asset.
    • Solid knowledge of OHSA, WHMIS, and health and safety legislation, regulations
    • Knowledge of safety laws, health & safety best practices, workplace hazards, and control measures
    • First Aid and CPR certification a must
    • Able to build positive relationships, have a collaborative working style, and the  ability to explain safety programs/processes to employees in an understandable manner, and get buy-in
    • Able to work on cross-functionally with employees at all levels.
    • Able to design and deliver health and safety training programs and  safety orientations
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple sites; strong organization and detail orientation
    • Ability to influence implement and improve systems and processes; enforce standards and procedures and minimize non-conformance of standards; strong follow-through
    • Good documentation, report writing, and efficient document maintenance skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Good team player, positive attitude, flexible, adaptable. Is compassionate and assertive but fair
    • Good computer skills with Windows applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle are required.
    • Spanish is a definite asset.

    Workplace Conditions

    • Daily travel from phase to phase – frequent walking/standing
    • Work with a variety of employees and teams from different cultural backgrounds, within different settings (greenhouse, warehouse, offices, etc.)
    • The greenhouse environment can be very hot, humid, moist, or cold for most of the year and there is exposure to pests.

  • Operations Analyst/Assistant

    Job Category: Warehouse

    Location: Leamington, ON

    We are currently seeking an applicant to join our team and fill a full-time Operations Analyst/Assistant at our Distribution Center in Leamington, ON.

    Job Details

    The Operations Analyst/Assistant is an exciting role within the Sales Distribution team which is primarily responsible for analytics and reporting across all our distribution channels. They primarily forecast the future demand plan, create reports in Power BI and other software programs, provide updates for management, budget analysis and provide appropriate recommendations to the channel partners. The Operations Analyst/Assistant also supports the Director of Operations with a variety of assistant duties including but not limited to scheduling/organizing appointments, preparing correspondence, and managing administrative support tasks as needed.

    Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Working alongside Operations team to develop data analysis to improve our supply chain operations, helps increase efficiency, reduces costs and ensures the supply chain runs smoothly and profitably.
    • Analyzes data and processes to identify problematic areas and suggests improvements.
    • Plans and implements supply chain optimization projects (e.g., warehouse-slotting, route planning, etc.).
    • Helps foster trusting relationships with the DC departments, Sales, Logistics and Procurement.
    • Collaborates with IT professionals to implement effective systems.
    • Tracks KPIs and reports on supply chain’s performance.
    • Co-ordinates new process launches needed for reporting requirements in the ERP system with all relevant parties.
    • Monitor and maintain existing reports and build new reports as needed.
    • Maintain an overall awareness of the manager’s business activities (such as budget and KPI performance) and the needs that are associated with each, and potential needs of others involved in meetings/activities.
    • Attend Management Meetings, record all notes and upload onto SharePoint.
    • Prepare letters, presentations and reports as needed.
    • Work with the management team to prioritize suggested changes to each business segment.
    • Perform other related duties and projects as required.
    • Assist the Director of Operations as needed.

    Job Requirements

    • BSc/BA in Logistics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, or a related field
    • Proven experience as a Supply Chain Analyst, Logistics Coordinatoror similar role
    • Experience in data mining, building Excel models, Power BI reports, analysis, and reporting.
    • Familiarity with logistics and supply chain processes (e.g., inventory planning, warehouse management).
    • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, relational databases, and ERP systems.
    • Analytical mind with strong organization skills.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.
    • Comfortable providing, developing, and presenting recommendations to management.
    • Good interpersonal skills: ability to work with and positively influence employees at all levels.
    • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).

    Workplace Conditions

    We are currently seeking an applicant to join our team and fill a full-time Receptionist position at our Sales Office in Leamington, ON.

    Job Details

    The Receptionist is the first point of contact for guests, visitors, and vendors whether it is in person, email, or on the telephone.  S/he would be answering or referring inquiries and helping guests, visitors or vendors feel welcome before directing them to the appropriate person or department.  The receptionist will also be responsible for general clerical duties like inbound and outbound mail, administrative work, and general clerical support.

    Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Welcome/manage all guests, visitors and vendor enquiries by phone, email or in person and direct them to the correct department.
    • Coordinate office activities, events and meetings through scheduling and utilizing projects screens, teams, skype, zoom, conference calls, WIFI passwords etc.

  • Greenhouse Supervisor

    We are currently seeking an applicant to join our team and fill a full-time position as a Greenhouse Supervisor at our greenhouse operation in Leamington, ON.

    Job Details

    Our Supervisors play a key role in completing day-to-day greenhouse vegetable operations to ensure the necessary produce is harvested and packaged to meet customer orders and standards. It is a Supervisor’s responsibility to ensure that employees apply proper plant maintenance for successful plant growth, picking, and packing for quality production.

    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Coaching employees and demonstrating proper plant maintenance processes such as pruning, twisting, de-leafing, picking, clipping, string tying etc. on an on-going basis
    • During crop turnover they are responsible for ensuring all cleanout tasks and start up tasks are completed including ensuring the greenhouse is cleaned and ready for planting
    • Monitoring plant conditions and reporting any concerns to the Growers.
    • Ensuring production lines are organized, prepared, cleaned and maintained to Health and Safety standards and ensuring only quality products are packaged
    • Planning, delegating, motivating and lead the team well to improve performance and quality, while ensuring work is done efficiently, correctly and up to quality standards
    • Training, organizing and developing work schedules
    • Collaborating with the Growers to ensure proper allocation of staff and work
    • Aiding in pest monitoring and helping staff identify pest and disease problems
    • Ensuring all company health and safety and food compliance policies, procedures and standards are adhered to while upholding and monitoring quality control to ensure standards are met at all times
    • Maintaining confidentiality of all proprietary information, as well as other Company data, including personnel information
    • Monitoring and reporting maintenance needs to the Growers and Maintenance Department or preforming minor repairs in the greenhouse or warehouse, as needed.
    • Maintaining and completing pre-operational and post cleaning procedure checklists for production lines
    • Providing feedback, performance reviews and if necessary; apply progressive discipline processes for non-compliances, in a respectful manner
    • Completing required paperwork according to policies set out by Nature Fresh Farms

    Job Requirements:

    • Supervisor experience within greenhouse operations is required
    • English is Required
    • Spanish is an Asset
    • Excellent oral communication skills are essential
    • Attention to detail is essential
    • Must be a team player

    Workplace Conditions:

  • Dry Goods Supervisor

    We are currently seeking an applicant to join our team and fill a full-time Dry Goods Supervisor position at our Distribution Center in Leamington, ON.

    Job Details

    The Dry Goods Inventory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safe receiving, storage, and shipping of all dry goods within the Distribution Center.

    Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly counts are being done accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Ensuring NAV Dry Good quantities are matching with physical inventory counts and correcting items that do not line up.
    • Overseeing the entirety of the dry goods area ensuring it is kept in a clean and organized manner.
    • Training of new receivers in Company policies and procedures and NAV system data entering and item locations.
    • Ensuring shipments to other phases, growers and DC’s is done in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Responding to inquiries from Dry Goods Purchasing and other departments as needed.
    • Ensuring adequate stock is on hand and alerting purchasing when inventories are low.
    • Oversee box making area and box makers including shift scheduling.
    • Make sure necessary dry good boxes are being maintained.
    • Oversee box crushing area and box crushers including shift scheduling.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements

    • 3-5 years of Supervisory experience required.
    • Forklift experience required.
    • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment, some independent work.
    • Ability to work in a fast environment by multitasking and prioritizing work while being attentive to details and quality.
    • Ability to embrace and adapt to the rapid growth, innovation, and development of the company.
    • Must be available to work 6 days a week – steady day shift.
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
