“After a year in the produce industry, I was hooked.”

In 2013, Amber R. made the move from the little town of Belgrave, ON to Leamington, the southern-most town in Ontario, to start her career in fresh produce. After working two jobs as a Flatbed Dispatcher and a Cook at a restaurant for almost 7 years in Belgrave, Amber knew she needed a change – and that’s how she found her way to Nature Fresh Farms as a Repacking Inventory Clerk.

Moving through many different departments, Amber now has experience with our company in Food Safety, Shipping, Logistics, and Sales: “I moved to Leamington to pursue a position in Logistics, but I have had the opportunity to gain knowledge in a lot of different departments and positions. All of that experience has helped me feel confident in my current position as a Sales Administrator Supervisor!”

It only took one year for Amber to get hooked on produce: “This industry is fast-paced, and every day is filled with challenges, problem solving, and getting to meet new people. I never gave much thought to how a Tomato made it to my dinner plate until I visited one of the Nature Fresh Farms greenhouses for the first time – it was remarkable.”

A lot of Amber’s free time is spent with family, taking care of two Bullmastiffs named Louie and Rvca, and helping her husband with house renovations. Amber is thoroughly enjoying her time living in her and her husband’s newest home building project, but she is looking forward to their next design and build or renovation project, as well!

As a Sales Administrator Supervisor, Amber is responsible for training and supporting all our Sales Account Administrators. One of Amber’s favorite parts about her role is watching the people she supervises as their passion for the produce industry grows! Amber is one of the #GrowToPeople.
