“My dad has always taught me that when I’m working on something, I should always try to have it done the right way the first time.”

Although he was born in Ontario, Ricky N. also spent some of his childhood years in Mexico with his family. Ricky loved growing up around tractors and fields, so when he started hearing great things about Nature Fresh Farms, it was an easy decision for him to apply for a position with our company. At the end of 2019, Ricky joined our team as an Assistant Grower!

His dad has taught Ricky a lot about how to develop a strong work ethic: “I would say my eagerness to learn and my value for working hard until the job is done right are what have helped me excel in my role as an Assistant Grower. I have my dad to thank for teaching me those things. But I also believe in following your heart, and that fear shouldn’t hold you back.”

There’s a lot that Ricky has come to love about Nature Fresh Farms: “It truly is my second home, and it’s so much more than just ‘work’. It’s a place where you can share your daily struggles with your co-workers. And when you ask for help, you’re never turned down but rather given it two-fold. I haven’t looked back since joining this team!”

Ricky likes to spend much of his free time outside. Whether that’s playing baseball, hopping on his ATV, or sitting around the campfire and talking with his friends, Ricky’s best moments are often spent outdoors.

As an Assistant Grower, Ricky is responsible for monitoring our plants and ensuring they get everything they need to grow properly. That involves maintaining proper irrigation, making changes to the climate control settings inside the greenhouse, and keeping an eye out for pests or diseases in our plants. Ricky is one of our #GrowToPeople!
