March 8th, 2018 is International Women’s Day! This is a day of global celebration for women – their achievements, their abilities, and their unrelenting drive to affect positive change in our world.
On this day, we want to highlight the voices of five women who work within our company and who consistently demonstrate leadership and initiative. We celebrate these empowered women today and every day.
Meet the Women of NatureFresh™
The five women featured below are only a handful of the many amazing women who work at NatureFresh™ – we also want to acknowledge the dedication and drive of every woman we have the pleasure of working with at this company. Thank you for everything that you do!
Spotlight #1: Thina 
What is your role at NatureFresh?: Warehouse Manager
What is your greatest accomplishment?: My greatest accomplishment over my years at NatureFresh™ has been starting as General Labor and working my way up to a Management position, having the power to show others that if you show up every day with a great attitude and love for what you do, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to.
How do you overcome struggles/challenges you face?: I know from experience that struggles/challenges in life are inevitable, wherever I go, there will always be challenges. I’ve learned over the years that every single challenge I overcome makes me stronger and smarter, so the more challenges I face the stronger and smarter I become.
Who inspires you?: My dad has always been my greatest inspiration, he’s taught me that I can’t control the curve balls life throws at me but I can change myself to make sure the curve ball doesn’t knock me out.
What is a quote or words of inspiration you’d like to share with other women?: “My philosophy is that not only are you responsible for your life, but doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment.” – Oprah Winfrey
Spotlight #2: Helen
What is your role at NatureFresh?: Labor Administration Manager
What is your greatest accomplishment?: My key achievement has been establishing an efficient labour program together with my colleagues. Some might say keeping my employment for 17 years. ????
How do you overcome struggles/challenges you face?: By finding purpose and direction. Being able to work together as a team with supportive associates goes a long way.
Who inspires you?: People often just look to successful people for inspiration. I’m inspired by all the hardworking, caring, humble, grateful people, no matter what their wealth or situation.
What is a quote or words of inspiration you’d like to share with other women?: This one I tend to remember: “To whom much is given much is expected.”
I do really like this one – it’s aspirational for me: “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.”
Spotlight #3: Sarah
What is your role at NatureFresh?: Quality and Phase 1 Assistant Grower
What is your greatest accomplishment?: I would have to say learning to become a grower is my biggest accomplishment so far.
How do you overcome struggles/challenges you face?: The only way I know how, I face them head-on, and ask questions when I need to.
Who inspires you?: I can’t say that there is only one person that inspires me, there are many people who inspire me. The people that take the situation they are in and make the best of it, grow from it, and never give up. The people that turn pain and failure into victory and triumph. Those are the people that inspire me.
What is a quote or words of inspiration you’d like to share with other women?: “Once you figure out what respect tastes like, it tastes better than attention.” – Pink
Spotlight #4: Luci
What is your role at NatureFresh?: Purchasing & Product Development
What is your greatest accomplishment?: I followed my passion and worked hard – that led to this current position at a company like NatureFresh™. This is my greatest accomplishment.
How do you overcome struggles/challenges you face?: I try to stay calm, gather information as much as possible, and then come up with plans/solutions. Even if things don’t go the way I want, I pick myself up and learn from it and move on in a positive direction.
Who inspires you?: Every person in my life who shows courage and compassion.
What is a quote or words of inspiration you’d like to share with other women?: “There is no magic to achievement. It’s really about hard work, choices, and persistence.” – Michelle Obama
Spotlight #5: Tina
What is your role at NatureFresh?: Executive Assistant / Retail Account Administrator
What is your greatest accomplishment?: I feel my greatest accomplishment is stepping out of my comfort zone and changing my career path to something that challenges me daily – Produce Sales.
How do you overcome struggles/challenges you face?: I’ve had to overcome many struggles and challenges in my life (both personal and professional). I know that they are a part of life, so I try not to stay in those moments too long and look at each day as a new day.
Who inspires you?: I have met some amazing people in my life and so it’s difficult to name just one, but those that inspire me the most are my family. Mainly my husband who is always willing to help anyone, no matter what.
What is a quote or words of inspiration you’d like to share with other women?: “Be happy with what you have while working for what you want.” – Helen Keller
