‘Tis the Season of Giving
While 2020 has been a difficult year, the holiday season is finally here!
This time of year is always a busy one for the team at Nature Fresh Farms: on top of preparing our greenhouses for a fresh season, we’re also busy organizing holiday campaigns and giving back to our team. Here’s what we’re up to during the most wonderful time of the year!
Community Giving in 2020
During an especially difficult year, we know giving has become even more important in our communities.
Our Annual Holiday Giveaway
One of our company’s favorite ways to give back is by supporting the communities we grow in, especially during difficult seasons. While the holidays are typically filled with celebrations and high spirits, many people find it a challenging, stressful time of year.
To help support those people who may be having a harder time during the holidays, Nature Fresh Farms, along with our sister company South Essex Fabricating, has once again launched our Annual Holiday Giveaway. Members of the Windsor-Essex County, ON and Fulton County, OH communities are encouraged to nominate deserving families in need to receive some extra joy this holiday season. From those nominations, 30 families will be selected to win a $500 grocery gift card and a $200 holiday food basket.
We believe everyone deserves to have a holiday season filled with joy, cheer, and happiness! If you know a deserving family, you can nominate them here for their chance to win!
Canned Food Drive
Every year, we also host a cross-company canned food drive to support local food banks during a time of increased demand. Team members across our sister companies – even across countries! – are encouraged to bring in canned food items to be collected and donated at the height of the holiday season.
To make things interesting, each of our sister companies and departments square up to see who can collect the most items for donation. From previous food drives, our teams have collected over 10,000 non-perishable food items!
Stay tuned: we’ll announce the total tally from our food drive in the weeks to come.
Holiday Parades
Spreading cheer during local parades is yet another way our team celebrates the holiday season! This year, we participated in both the Leamington Christmas Parade and Kingsville Christmas Parade. With a drive-thru format, we were delighted to wave at passers-by as they drove by our Gingerbread Greenhouse.
Here are a few photos from the event!

Our Team’s Traditions
The holiday season is also one of our favorite times of the year to give back to our team! Most years, we can gather together and celebrate with our entire team in one place, but due to our current circumstances, we’ve had to get creative when planning team celebrations this year. However, we do have many holiday traditions that our team looks forward to as the year comes to a close, and we’re still able to uphold those traditions in 2020! Here are some of the ways we’re keeping our team feeling festive and appreciated this year.
Milestone Awards
Every holiday season, we acknowledge the members of our team who have been a part of our company for 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 years. For each new milestone, team members are gifted a keepsake to remind them of their passion and dedication to the work they do here at Nature Fresh Farms.
Our list grows each and every year with new Grow-To People reaching exciting career milestones. And we’re looking forward to celebrating even more milestones in the years to come!
Yearbooks
Another holiday tradition at Nature Fresh Farms is to present our leaders – Peter Quiring, John Ketler, and Matt Quiring – with a yearbook detailing all the accomplishments our teams have celebrated from the past year. These yearbooks are special keepsakes for our leadership team: they love looking through them and reminiscing on all our accomplishments over the years.
Holiday Feasts
Every year, our team has come together to celebrate the holiday season with a company-wide holiday party, but this year, we have to do something a little different to ensure everyone stays healthy. Instead of one large event, we have organized an afternoon where each department within our company will celebrate with one another by enjoying a catered meal together and watching a series of videos from our management team. This way, everyone can participate in the festivities with their closest team members while still following all health and safety measures.
This year’s holiday dinner may be on a smaller scale, but we will make sure it is still full of joy and cheer for our team to enjoy!
