Full Freshness
Halloween is too often thought of as a holiday for just sugar. The fall season is so dynamic in terms of flavor that it would be a shame not to celebrate all it has to offer. As the air cools and the leaves change, savory and hearty flavors become essential cravings for any October plate.
Let’s look at some mains celebrating delicious fall flavor.

Halloween Snack Board
Another Halloween main is a fall twist on a classic shareable. Using nuts, pumpkin seeds, and a Red Bell Pepper spread, your charcuterie board can have a fall feel while feeding the whole family.
To add a little flare, go to your local dollar store and pick up some decorations to help your charcuterie board get in the Halloween spirit.
Ingredients:
- Thinly sliced meats like prosciutto, salami, chorizo, and ham, are all good additions to a charcuterie board. Roll and fold your prosciutto, salami, and chorizo to add texture to the finished board.
- Be sure to use at least 3 cheeses on a meat and cheese board.
- Fresh Ingredients. Fruits and veggies add the necessary sweetness and freshness to balance the rich meat and cheese. Tomatoes-on-the-Vine, Strawberries, Bell Peppers, and figs are all excellent on cheese boards.
- Delicious preserves like a Red Bell Pepper spread are also a welcome addition. Excellent with cheese on crackers.
- Crackers/bread. These are the vehicles for getting more cheese and meat into your mouth. Baguette or French bread and a selection of crackers.
Extras: Dried fruit, nuts, and olives all add extra texture and flavor to the charcuterie board.

Reinventing Sweetness
When it comes to baking, natural sweetness is a great way to add nutrition to your desert. There are plenty of fruits and vegetables that are already sweet and wonderfully packed with various nutrients, fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants.
These fresh twists on old favorites are great to serve whether at a Halloween party or to the neighborhood kids!
Red Bell Pepper Brownie
It takes a bold baker to reimagine the brownie using Red Bell Pepper. While not traditionally found in your baked goods, the Red Bell Pepper adds a fuller sweetness and more layered texture to your chocolate brownie.
The rich sweetness of Red Bell Pepper and chocolate are the most unlikely pair since peanut butter and chocolate!
