Can you share your favorite Mother’s Day memory with us?
A good Mother’s Day memory I have is from last year when I came home from work and all the food was ready for me already sitting on the table. My family and I ate together, and to show me respect, my children gave me flowers and then sat on the floor and gave me a wish to be healthy, wealthy, and happy. I was very happy that day to see that they did something special for me on Mother’s Day.
What do you love most about being a mom?
The best thing about being a mom is seeing my kids grow up happy, to be good people, and to know that they have a good future.
Do you have any ‘corona-momming’ tips for your fellow moms?
I am a single mom, so usually my youngest son sees his father every other week. But with the current situation, he is staying at home with only me. I am using this time to help him learn some new chores to do around the house: making sure he can clean his room, do laundry, and make simple food for himself while he is at home more. I think my son and many other children will grow up a lot during this time and have the chance to gain more independence.
What is your favorite healthy recipe to make with your kids?
My youngest son enjoys making spring rolls with me – he helps every time. We like making stuffed Peppers together too – he always helps to stuff them with the rice mixture.
Which Nature Fresh Farms product is a staple in your home?
I use a lot of our Tomatoes at home! We eat a lot of papaya salad, and papaya salad is the best with Tomatoes in it. Whether the Tomatoes are big or small, whatever I have on hand works! We also love Cucumbers.

Can you share your favorite Mother’s Day memory with us?
My favorite Mother’s Day memory is my first. I had one baby, was tired and overwhelmed – but it was my first time celebrating and getting to be part of the “club”. My husband made a nice breakfast for me and I got to snuggle my babe all day and relax.
What do you love most about being a mom?
The best part about being a mom is having tiny, cute little versions of yourself and spouse walking around outside of your body. Watching them discover the world is truly amazing. And the love – my boys know how to get me, and it is with all the hugs.

The pressure is very real. Trying to work a full-time job, parent 24/7, and keep up with online learning is a task that is next to impossible. Be kind to yourself and realize that not everything will get done in a day, and that is okay! Oh, and snacks allow for five minutes of quiet… always.
What is your favorite healthy recipe to make with your kids?
My kids love to make banana bread! The recipe we use is fast and simple, requires no beaters or mixers (safety first with three busy boys), and is super tasty.
Which Nature Fresh Farms product is a staple in your home?
My boys don’t go a day without eating our Cherry Tomatoes and Cucumbers. Hummus and veggies are definitely a staple in our house!

Can you share your favorite Mother’s Day memory with us?
A long-standing tradition for us in my family has always been to pick out our spring and summer gardening plants with my mom and grandmother. In these last years, we have included my 2 sons, Cohen and Jack, and now they pick out the flowers that they love for me to plant.
What do you love most about being a mom?
I love learning through their eyes. As parents it is easy to look for the final resolution of things. Yet with kids they are focused on the here and now and not the final outcome.

Routine, routine, routine. You have to set up a schedule and try to follow it as much as possible. It’s hard, because PJs all day are so comforting, but getting washed and dressed just to sit in the living room is important!
What is your favorite healthy recipe to make with your kids?
My boys love scrambled eggs. We have a small hobby farm, so the boys will pick which eggs they want in the morning from our chicken coop. They crack and scramble them, add salt, pepper, and some cheese. Because Jack is 6, he is ‘Mr. Independent’ and will do most of the work himself, but I guard the hot stove. He will even cook for Cohen who is 3.

The Cherry Tomatoes!! They have put them on sticks and mimicked roasting them like marshmallows, they squish the seeds slowly from their mouths (creating a seed filled mess everywhere). They throw them at each other, they mash them in their hair! Hahaha – but because they burst with gooey seeds and juice everywhere, they are a lot of fun for the boys.

Can you share your favorite Mother’s Day memory with us?
My favorite Mother’s Day memory is coming home from work after a long day to find both of my kids looking all worried like something bad had just happened. I tried to find out what was wrong but they wouldn’t say anything; they both kept quiet for a while, as they were both thinking of how to present a cake to me that they had made from scratch for the very first time ever (as they were both not allowed to use the oven when I was not at home). A few hours later they approached me with a lovely cake all decorated nicely! At that moment, my heart melted, and my eyes filled with tears. This is my favorite memory because they dug deep into their hearts and thought of a creative way to ensure that I still got something for Mother’s Day no matter how small it was. Memories are things that are created, not things that are given.
What do you love most about being a mom?
What I love most about being a mom is the true love I found deep inside, not knowing I had this kind of love until my two earth angels came along. The memories I get to create with my kids, teaching them right from wrong, it gives me courage to face and conquer my own fears so that I can allow them to see that no matter how difficult life becomes they can accomplish whatever they set their minds to. I also love helping them to overcome the obstacles that they face along the way and guiding them to the right path to become the man and woman of tomorrow.
Do you have any ‘corona-momming’ tips for your fellow moms?
The Coronavirus has not only caused pressure on adults but also on our kids. We as parents have to ensure our children remain safe during this pandemic, so it’s of high importance that we try to keep our children inside as much as possible, limit the amount of people that enter our house during this time, clean areas that are frequently touched as often as possible. Also, if you are a parent that is still working outside of your home during this challenging time, it is very important that you get all cleaned up before handling the kids or anything around them. If they are old enough to understand, take time to explain to them about the virus and how important it is for us to stay protected. They are depending on us to protect them every step of the way.
But you also want to ensure they remain happy and focused, so find ways to keep them motivated! For example, watch family movies, play games, even set up a little running space as all the parks are closed, or make room enough to ride their bikes. In everything do your best and leave the rest to God.
What is your favorite healthy recipe to make with your kids?
My family’s favorite recipe is Jamaican Chicken Noodle Soup!
Which Nature Fresh Farms product is a staple in your home?
The favorite Nature Fresh Farms product at my house is Cucumbers! Long English or Mini Cucumbers are my family’s favorite. We love making salad and juice using this product. Cucumbers are very healthy – I have personally known them to help with high blood pressure or hypertension, to help you maintain a healthy weight, and to have many more health benefits. We use Cucumbers to make juice whether by itself or by combining it with other products like carrots, ginger, and beetroot.

Can you share your favorite Mother’s Day memory with us?
My favorite Mother’s Day is more of a tradition that we have – every year, my son and I buy lots of flowers and we plant them together. We love creating our own planter boxes and baskets.
What do you love most about being a mom?
I have a wonderful son and a beautiful stepdaughter. What I love most about being a mother is how proud they make me. Both kids have graduated from college and are so smart and always pushing to do more.
Do you have any ‘corona-momming’ tips for your fellow moms?
Even though both my kids have moved out, we are still staying connected as a family during this time. We use Facebook messenger to chat and see what is new in our kids’ lives, and we share funny stories and laugh together.
What is your favorite healthy recipe to make with your kids?
Our favorite healthy recipe to enjoy together is Tomato Cucumber Salad. You simply cut up the Cucumbers, Tomatoes, and red onion, then add olive oil, red wine vinegar, and a little bit of sugar. Season with oregano, salt, and pepper, then mix, chill, and enjoy!
Which Nature Fresh Farms product is a staple in your home?
To make this salad I love using Nature Fresh Farms Long English Cucumbers and Beefsteak Tomatoes.
Showing Moms We Care
Many flower greenhouses have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. To support two local flower growers in our community, Nature Fresh Farms is purchasing over 500 fresh baskets of flowers for our employees to enjoy in our workspaces, as well as to take home this Mother’s Day weekend!
We are proud to be supporting other local businesses during this difficult time (as well as spreading some extra love when people need it the most)!
Ideas for Celebrating Mother’s Day
Are you trying to decide how you’re going to celebrate Mother’s Day this year? You can also support local businesses by purchasing flowers from local growers or flower shops, or by buying a gift certificate for your mom’s favorite restaurant to use in the future. Even if you can’t go and give these gifts to your mom in person, you can have flowers delivered or send the gift certificate in the mail.
